May is the month of Mary
A good way to dedicate the month to Mary is by saying a daily Rosary or, at least, part of the Rosary—with Hail Marys and other prayers that honor the Mother of our Lord. “Never was it known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided.”(from Salve Regina). Devotion to the Blessed Mother is one of the best kept secrets among those who want their prayers answered.

Bereavement Support Groups for Children
Adults rely on life experience to cope with loss and crises. Youth don’t have that kind of resource to call upon. They need help resolving these issues.
  • Adults often don’t recognize when children are grieving.
  • Children don’t know how to grieve, and the consequences of this can be devastating.
  • Children don’t distinguish between the pain of loss that results from death, divorce, separation, abandonment or military deployment.
  • Children can be healed from loss.
Holy Cross Church is offering a program to heal the hearts of children. Our initial offering is to children from grades 1-6 and teenagers. If you are interested in this program or would like more information, please contact Deacon Ivan Hawk at 355-7408.

Cement blocks have been delivered for the second exit and a volunteer is giving his time to build those walls.

Things are looking very good down there!

Due to the delays, the estimated completion date will be in June.

The PYC has been working on a list of new furniture, food and games to be purchased for the center.  These will be in place at our Grand Opening which will be announced by late May.

The teens of our parish will assist adult volunteers who have the skills to provide much of the labor to renovate the center.  Please let us know if you are willing to help.
